Jamie M. Transformation

1. What were your initial fitness goals when you started the program, and did you achieve them? How do you feel about your progress?

My goal was to lose about 30 pounds and work on getting off heartburn and blood pressure medicine as well as avoiding the need to go onto cholesterol medicine. I was also hoping to find a strength program that I would enjoy enough (or see enough progress from) to maintain consistent working out and help with toning and body composition changes.

Since the program started, I have lost 30 pounds and have been fully removed from heartburn medication for about 3 months with some occasional heartburn, but nothing that requires medicine. I

I am on track to work towards removing blood pressure medicine in the next phase. I have been sticking with my strength program consistently (except when travel throws it off) and have actively added a 7-10K daily step goal.

I have gained strength in my weight lifting, am working on reducing the band assistance on pull ups, and feel less winded on bike rides and walks.  I feel great about my progress and look forward to learning about the reverse diet phase.

2.       How did the program affect your overall well-being and lifestyle? Did you notice any positive changes in your energy levels, mood, sleep quality, or stress management?

Through the program I achieved my primary goals, but also gained some habits I wasn’t expecting, which have had a positive impact. Before this program, a good day of hydration was finishing 20 ounces of water and electrolytes were never added. I now consistently drink 120-160 ounces of water, with 2-3 LMNT packets a day, which has also helped my skin!

I do feel I have more energy and am more motivated to complete my workouts rather than skip them for naps. I am improving my night time routine and have been consistently getting 7-9 hours of sleep every night. I have also made an effort to walk on my lunch breaks when I can to get more steps in each day.

3.       How would you describe the support and guidance provided by your coach throughout the program? Did they address your questions and concerns effectively?

Tyler was very knowledgeable about many factors related to nutrition, sleep, and overall health which was important to me. The weight loss was an aesthetic goal, but I also had deeper rooted goals to get me naturally healthy and off medicine.

My heartburn was a little tricky, but Tyler didn’t give up and kept trying different things until we found something that worked. I love the strength program, it was exactly what I needed.

Tyler gave me some tough love when needed, but it always came from a good place and he was very supportive in making sure I was doing what was needed for me to hit my  goals. I appreciated the week by week goals which made the overall goal feel less daunting.

4.       Would you recommend this program to others looking to achieve similar fitness goals?

If so, why? I would recommend this program. This isn’t a quick fix diet, this is a program that changed my behaviors over time to reach my goals. It has also helped me be aware of the food choices I make and how they will impact inflammation, as well as build a healthier relationship with the scale through this knowledge.

5.       Was there anything else about your experience you'd like to share?

This wasn’t an easy journey, and I know I am not across the finish line yet, but I am very happy I decided to take the leap and give this program a try. In 6 months, Tyler has helped me accomplish things I have been trying to accomplish for several years, but didn’t have the tools to accomplish on my own. Thanks for all your help, I know I will feel super confident on my wedding day!
