Michaela’s Transformation

What were your initial fitness goals when you started the program, and did you achieve them? How do you feel about your progress?

In January 2023 I was at my heaviest weight--180 pounds--ten pounds heavier than I was at 9 months pregnant with my third baby, and about 50 pounds heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight with baby number one! I decided it was time to get healthy and I set a goal to lose 20-25 pounds by the end of the year. I made every effort to make healthier choices throughout the winter months but was only able to shave off about 5 pounds. I needed help and that was when we started to work together. My initial goal was still to lose about 20 pounds and fit into my clothes again! The weight goal quickly changed as I realized I could (and should) lose more and that I had the tools to make that happen. So, I set out to get back to the 130s! I landed at 135 and have no intent of ever creeping back up to the 140s (or 180s!) again!

How did the program affect your overall well-being and lifestyle? Did you notice any positive changes in your energy levels, mood, sleep quality, or stress management?

The weight loss may have been the initial motivator, but I had no idea how much my unhealthy diet and lack of exercise were impacting my mental health. I’ve spent the last few years in a haze, full of angst, and highly stressed or anxious. I chalked it up to being a busy working mom and blamed my stress and angst on my job and our busy schedule--but as the weight came off the fog lifted and I had renewed mental clarity. I am sleeping better, have more energy, more patience, and feel less stressed and anxious when dealing with setbacks or obstacles at work. I used to run late to work in the mornings because I was hitting the snooze button on repeat (wasn’t getting quality sleep) or spending too long getting ready (trying on and then taking off multiple outfits until I could find something that fit). This school year, I’ve been arriving 30 minutes early every day because I wake up (before my alarm goes off) and get ready so quickly (because I like the way all of my clothes fit again)! 

The most notable change for me, however, is that my kids started to notice my change in eating and exercise habits and they quickly got on board, too! Less processed foods and sugar means less cranky and irritable kids! It has been a fun journey to be on with them and the most fulfilling part of all of this has been hearing how proud of me they are! 

How would you describe the support and guidance provided by your coach throughout the program? Did they address your questions and concerns effectively?

I have known Tyler since I was 16, so I was a little nervous to work with him at first (the last time he saw me I was a young and in-shape 20-something year old!). From the very first coaching conversation, however, I felt at ease and comfortable talking about my goals and how to reach them. There was never any judgment--only acknowledgement and support throughout the entire coaching process. Tyler was at all times available, approachable, and helpful. He was patient in answering my questions but also knew when to push back and challenge me! Weekly goal tracking sheets kept us both accountable and helped facilitate our weekly coaching agenda. The program was supported by an instructional workbook that was an easy to reference tool when I had questions or wanted to dive deeper into the content. 

Would you recommend this program to others looking to achieve similar fitness goals? If so, why?

Yes. One hundred percent, yes. When friends, family, colleagues and other associates see me and the transformation I’ve had, the first thing they ask is, “What did you do?” My answer is always the same. . .”I started taking care of myself.” And then I proceed to share the NHP program highlights, links, and IG handle and tell people it is the greatest investment they could ever make! There is no excuse. Swap out your Starbucks and drive-thru dinners for one month and you’ve more than paid for the coaching experience. I wholeheartedly believe that the reason the program works so well is because it is manageable and easy to follow. 

Was there anything else about your experience you'd like to share?

Dress/Pant Size went from 14 to 6

Bra size went from 38DD to 34C/D

Shirt Size went from XL to S

Skin and hair is healthier

More energy

All I want to do in my free time is walk/hike and read books…haven’t watched TV in months (minus football)

I’ve had a little bit of alcohol here and there, but generally don’t want it/crave it (and certainly don’t feel like I need it after a stressful day)

The most beautiful transformation has been the one with my kids---we are all eating healthier, more active and spending more quality time together. It has been the greatest blessing to belly laugh with them each day!

There’s so much to share about this journey--on a personal note, I have really enjoyed reconnecting with you and catching up! You held me accountable but also pushed me to learn more so that I have the tools to make smarter choices moving forward. I did not recognize the person I became and honestly, if you hadn’t reached out to me I probably never would have started this program. Thank you. I feel alive and human again. I feel GREAT and as vain as this may sound, I am more confident in my looks today than I have ever been my whole life! (Even that 20-something year old version of me didn’t have this confidence!)
